Md Azam is the founder of finEngine and holds the position of President and CTO. He has over 20 years’ experience in software engineering and data management. His in-depth knowledge includes financial analytics, global equities, institutional trading systems, compliance, surveillance, and order processing. He has worked with a broad array of financial industry clients, providing actionable data analysis to optimize business goals, and provide complete transparency to the order routing and execution process. Prior to founding finEngine in 2004, Azam spent 7 years at Knight Trading Group where he developed their analytics infrastructure as global head of data management. He served as a member of the Global Strategy Committee and the IT Management Committee. Some of his accomplishments at Knight included the design and management of several key projects including: complete automated compliance and surveillance system, one of the first of its kind, a best execution system, which allowed Knight to provide individualized benchmark analytics to clients, an intranet system to disseminate reporting and analysis to traders, development of the historical market data infrastructure covering hardware, software, and database technology.Azam was instrumental in designing the options and futures OMS data structure including the security master. This broad experience gave him the vision and desire to develop analytical software for a new generation of traders through the formation of finEngine. Anthony Sanfilippo (Tony) brings more than 40 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry, with deep expertise in investment banking, market making, and financial technology. He is the CEO of finEngine Inc., where he guides the company’s mission to deliver advanced data analytics solutions that empower broker dealers and investment managers to make smarter decisions and optimize business performance.

Tony’s career reflects a proven track record of building and leading market-driven organizations. He was a principal at Seppala Financial, advising early-stage fintech ventures, and previously served as CEO of Hudson Securities before its merger with Rodman & Renshaw, where he became President. He co-founded Etico Capital, a boutique merchant bank, and held senior roles including Head of U.S. Equity Trading at Jefferies & Co. and Executive Vice President at Mesirow Financial.

Earlier, Tony was President & CEO of Knight Capital Markets and Interim CEO of Knight Trading Group, overseeing global equities operations across the U.S., Europe, and Japan. He joined Knight following its acquisition of Tradetech Securities, a Nasdaq Intermarket trading company he founded in 1993.

Tony has also played an active role in industry leadership, serving as President of the Security Traders Association of Chicago (STAC), Governor of the Security Traders Association (STA), Director of the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP), and as a board member of Nasdaq Europe and Knight Trading Group. He chaired the District 8 Business Conduct Committee (DBCC) of NASD Regulation Inc. and contributed to the SIA Trading Committee.

He holds a Finance degree from DePaul University.
